Forgiveness can be one of the hardest things God ever asks us to do. Not because you’re weak, but because the hurt was real. The wound was deep. And the pain didn’t disappear just because time passed.
People sometimes say, “Just forgive and move on,” as if forgiveness is simple. But you and I both know — it isn’t.
Forgiveness is choosing to release the weight that has been crushing your heart. It’s choosing freedom over bitterness. It’s choosing healing over heaviness. It’s choosing to let God carry what you cannot.
And if you’re struggling, that doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human. It means the wound mattered. It means your heart is still tender — and God sees that tenderness.
But here is the hope: God never asks you to forgive in your own strength. He gives you His strength. He heals what you cannot heal. He softens what you cannot soften. He carries what you cannot carry.
If you want to forgive but don’t know how, that desire itself is evidence that God is already working in you. He gives you His strength. He heals what you cannot heal. He softens what you cannot soften. He carries what you cannot carry.
And if you’ve never received God’s forgiveness for your own sins, that is where true healing begins. Jesus loves you, and He died to save your soul. He offers complete forgiveness, a new beginning, and a restored relationship with Him. If you are not saved, or if you’re unsure, you can come to Him right now and ask Him to forgive you and save you.
“Lord Jesus, You know the hurt I’ve carried. You know how hard it has been to forgive. I give You my pain, my anger, and my disappointment. Please heal my heart and help me forgive the way You have forgiven me. And if I am not truly saved, please forgive my sins and save my soul. I surrender my life to You. Amen.”
